Joy in Motion

Sega is movement, colour and joy in its most unfiltered form, and photographing it live at a birthday celebration meant working entirely in the moment.

Shot indoors during a candid performance, the challenge was capturing the energy and emotion of the dance without interrupting it, reading the rhythm of the room and anticipating the moments before they happened. Available light, fast decisions and a willingness to stay out of the way of something that was already beautiful on its own.
